Lawrence Brass a.k.a 4VM WAVES
Is a proud Indigenous man with Ojibway decent. A father of 2 beautiful girls Lynnaya & Layla. Lawrence was raised by his grandparents Fred & Rita in the small town of Sturgis, Sask. Music wasn’t always his go to, the early years of his life he found sports as a way to keep busy focusing more on the sport of hockey where he got many opportunities to play with multiple teams. At a young age 4VM vowed to never bother with drugs and alcohol due to living with a close family member suffering from alcoholism. Music became a powerful way to express himself moving to Saskatoon at the age of 16, he began writing stories of all the things he seen and witnessed. Alcohol did become a part of his life, which he struggled with for sometime. “it felt like it was something I could never escape, but I knew I had to keep trying”. On February 21, 2014 he made the decision to become sober for good and since then he is now celebrating over 10 years of sobriety.! “The evolution in my sobriety and music is the main driving force of my songs now, Something about music sets me free and shows me I can accomplish anything I set my mind to”. 4VM has found a passion for sharing his story and the creativity his music has evolved into. My Family, Sobriety & Music are my greatest happiness! I can’t wait to share it with the world!
